We are all blogging, right? Do you blog? or at least use pc or laptop to perform your tasks at home and office.
Here, I just want to share my two cents with you all…The writing below may benefit you in some way or another. Maybe.
Guys, we stay in a fast running world and we are always looking for the fastest way of doing things. We barely have time to wait for our burger at the local fast food drive thru, coffee preparation, our microwave popcorn to pop, so if anyone has time to wait for a slow computer?
Restricted on adding more RAM to your computer, there are six steps you can take to accelerate the performance of your computer. Most of these steps will help speed up your computer, for free, as are the applications installed on your computer.
One of the first step you should do is to empty the Recycle Bin. It is easy to do. Place your cursor in the Recycle Bin icon on the desktop, right click and select “Empty Recycle Bin”.
Then go to Explorer, the IE, go to Tools, Internet Options. Click “Delete Cookies” then the window that appears on “Delete Files”. Check the “Delete all offline content” and click OK. Once done, click OK to close the Internet Options window and then close Internet Explorer.
First and second step are simple and that is why we do those two first. Then we do a disk cleanup. To do this, click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Cleanup. The disk cleaning function will now start to calculate the amount of space to be able to let go. When finished, it will give you a list of files to delete. It should have some protected files, but you can go on the list and mark all the files you want to delete, click OK.
Now is the time to perform a disk defragmentation. It could be a long process so you can set the time when you have other things to do at the same time. For example, configure, and then go to watch your favorite TV show, or go mow the lawn, or go on training. You get the idea. To begin, go to Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Defragmenter. Click on Scan. If you’re lucky, you get “No need to defragment this volume” call-outs, but most likely will need to click “Defragment”. If so, click it, go to do other things and go back after one or two hours.
Once this is done, time to run a spyware scan. Most people do not realize how easy it is to get infected with spyware, so running periodic scans is highly recommended. You can use anti-spyware programs you prefer. You should know that there is no program that is free to all. Playing it safe, you must run at least three different programs. You may be surprised by what they are found. You may have spyware running on your computer and do not even realize it. After the scan is complete, and all the spyware gone, it is time for the last step to be taken care of.
The last step is to run a virus scan. You should have an antivirus program installed on your computer. If not, I strongly recommend you get one now. After the antivirus program is configured, go ahead and run it. It may take from 20 minutes to several hours depending on how many files you have on your hard drive so that, once again, perform an antivirus scan, and then do something else. Be back after about an hour.
After all steps finished. Restart your computer and you will be amazed at how fresh it feels utterly. It’s a good idea to follow steps 6 at least once a week (some steps you can even arrange to do automatically). By doing this, you will keep your computer performing almost as if for the first time you purchased it.
It really not simple to run all those above. Do you really have time? Actually, you can have one push button using only one software to settle your laptop/pc slow problems. I have tried the free trial pc tuneup from AVG. So, why don’t you? It’s free!
